Tired yet?

Oh, that is, of adorable pictures of the Griffinator?

Well, too bad...'cause here are more:

These pics are one of many reasons I wish my BIL, Jason, lived close by-isn't he talented?

He and the baby sis visited over Memorial Day weekend, and of course, met Griffin:

And Jacob fell in love with Jason's hat:

Uncle Jason is a real sweetheart and he let Jacob keep his hat:-)

TJ liked the hat too (which serves nicely as a "before" picture:

...before what you wonder??? Ahhh...my baby boy lost his 4th tooth at 4:19 pm-but to me, it was the most important tooth, as I've been wanting to see his precious grin missing "his 2 front teeth" for some time-ok, so, I've hounded the poor kid for months!!!

-in the second picture if you look close enough, you can even see his tooth coming in-that poor tooth was holding by a thread! He accidentally knocked it out while wiggling a nearby tooth-he, he.

Griffin had 1 month photos today too-here's his outfit:

Lastly, stay tuned: tomorrow is the last day of school for the boys-I'll post my annual "oh how they've grown" post:-)

Oh and, "it's a girl!!!" Congrats Focosi family...we love you-can't wait to hear the name!

Great news (literally)!

Call me lame but I'm excited...the Walgreens located on Creasy Lane in the Pavillions center is now carrying the Chicago Tribune! I care about this not because I'm an avid Cubs fan (go Cards!) but because the Tribune has the BEST Sunday coupons selection-even better than the Indy Star-YAY! So, now you too have a place where you can find yourself a copy of the best paper each Sunday...

Thanks to Hubby for accomplishing this awesome feat;-)

Happy Memorial Day!

"Yay! It's Memorial Day" says Griffin.

Hope it's a red letter day!

300 posts!

And this makes 301... I can't believe my 300th post had the word underwear in the title:-)

A man in his underwear...or maybe just a 4 week old cute baby?

Who can resist a baby in a onesie? Not me, that's fo' sure! And while I had him all photogenic and all, I snapped about 4 thousand other shots (some of which are below).

And since this is his 4 week update, I'll dote on him some more. Actually though, I don't have much new to report from his 3 week update. He sleeps, he eats, he poops, he pees...and he cries some;-) Ok, to be specific, he is eating about 3 1/2 to 4 ounces each bottle usually around 3 hours apart. He has had some 4 hour stretches and a few 5 hour stretches, but not at night yet. He is still in newborn size diapers and clothes and boy do 3-6 month clothes look ginormous compared to his tiny little body. I was talking to him earlier today and he was just staring into my eyes and then he started making noises back... I do believe this was our first 2-way conversation;-)

I was going to get his pictures done today but he has some baby acne on his face and dry skin, so I'm hoping it will improve over the next few days, but regardless we'll get the pix done-probably after Mem day wknd.

I think that's about it for this update-enjoy the pics and enjoy the LONG weekend;-)

Oh Owey...what an owie.

This is my good side...what owie?

Is summer here? By the looks of his noggin', the answer is YES!

The first of many wipeouts on the sidewalk this year...ah the joys of boys;-)

3 weeks equals due date

OK, so I'm a bit late with this post/ post title since my due date was Friday, May 15th and that was the day Griffin turned 3 weeks old. It's more and more true the older I get, but BOY TIME FLIES BY!

Griffin is a sweet, sweet baby boy. He is still a pretty good sleeper and only has short times of alertness...he has had some increased episodes of fussiness due to gas pain which sometimes take a bit of time to calm him down from.

Here is a picture of him from Friday (ok I guess it will be pictures since I can't narrow it down):

I thought Friday would be a very emotional day and I'd do my post and be all tearful about the day but instead, it was pretty busy and turned out to be a fun, upbeat day.

TJ's school had a fundraiser type fair/carnival event and we were concerned about the weather (lots of rain and bad storms were predicted) but all the kids spent the afternoon praying and the weather was great and held out until after 8pm which was incredible but then the storms broke loose! Anyway, here are some photos from the fair:

The boys cousins always come and support FCS each year.

Owen loved the Chick-fil-A cow...he hugged on him and hugged on him. I was saddened to find the Lafayette Chick-fil-A owner that I have come to know and love Carolina Cruz has moved away for a franchise out of state;-( So, they are searching for a new owner of the Lafayette Franchise...wonder if I could qualify for a loan that big?

TJ "walked" a Llama but his Llama was lame! The thing refused to walk around...poor TJ tried and tried to pull him around-I don't know if he got a whole lap in;-)

Jake competed in the obstacle course against his cousin and very pridefully blew her away;-)

Owen loved playing the games for "tickets". He was super cute and surprisingly patient even though he didn't play near as many games as the other kids.

And here are some pics of Owen prior to a haircut (and diaper change):

I thought it was too funny how his saggy diaper was down to his knees (a size 4) and the ankle bracelets (prizes from the fair) really topped off the photo op;-)

Bad news...good news...good news...bad news

Bad news: At least it was expected-the appointment for Griffin in Indy at Riley Children's Hospital was today. Unfortunately, we got into traffic as the result of a wreck and were over 20 minutes late. Unlike my luck, they agreed to still see us. After two hours of waiting, we were finally taken to an exam room-yes 2 hours.

Good news (kinda?): after a "peek" and I can't emphasize "peek" enough, the MD said Griffin's "issue" was gonna be fine. Just as I expected and it only cost us nearly 5 hours (with traveling), $15 for dinner, and likely a few hundred for the appointment;-)

Good news: I had the gumption *after 2 hours of waiting* to ask the MD about Owen's "issues" needing a future appointment-and AGAIN-so *NOT MY LUCK* and I can't emphasis this enough, SHE SAID, "I'll just look at him now"...OMGoodness!!! Seriously? YAY! While I'm not happy that we sat in miles of traffic or waited at "makes your heart sad just walking in the building to see all the sick kids" Riley, I am so happy she saw Owen then and there. For those of you wondering, she did have a chart made up for him and we WILL be billed for the evaluation, but it saved us from driving back and who knows how long of a wait for both the future appointment and waiting room times.

Bad news: Owen needs surgery;-( My heart breaks because of this, but I know in the grand scheme of things, his surgery and medical issues are minor when compared to many of the precious kiddos Riley serves. As a momma, of course, any procedure on your beloved child is a big deal...but I know he WILL be fine. So, what he needs done is pretty "personal" because it is of a urology nature but the MD said he will undergo general anesthesia and the surgery will take about 2 1/2 hours and be done as an outpatient. She (the MD) made the whole thing sound easy-peasy and frankly, I was so stupified that she saw him at all I didn't think to ask many questions (like how his recovery would be, etc) but he did say the scarring would be very minor and that patients who have this surgery (it's 2 procedures) are very pleased as adults and do very well with it.

So, that's the update...not so bad, eh? Oh, the surgery is Thursday June 12th (or 11th-which ever day is a Thursday) and they don't schedule times since they go by age...so, the book was "full" that day but hopefully Owen will be one of the youngest since he has to be without food or drink after midnight the night before. We find out the day before what time to be there (I hate early for me but am prayerful for it for Owen's sake:-).

Also, I know this whole thing is kinda vague regarding what procedure they will be doing but again, since it's regarding his private area, I am trying to be mindful of how many details I give due to the nature of the internet not being so private. Anyone wanting more details, feel free to email me or call me and I'm very willing to discuss it with you...especially to help you know how to pray specifically or help you make decisions regarding your own kiddos who may need such issues addressed.

Sorry if this post is crazy...I'm pretty tired and have quite a headache.

The week in review:

Oh wait a minute...these two pictures aren't from last week...well, one is:-)
The top pic is Owen at 2 months old. The bottom is Griffin at two weeks old...not identical, but definitely brothers:-)

Wrapped around my finger already!

Griffin's teddy bear birth mark:-)

Don't you think his "stork bite" resembles a teddy bear? All of the boys have had stork bites...these birth marks are most obvious in infancy and fade over time.

Our crazy Owen!

My t-ball boy Jake!

A picture of Griffin's hospital pictures...the shot I took doesn't do the actual photograph justice...for a 4 day old baby, the picture was great (and free since I'm an employee:-).

The next 3 are pictures of Miles Standish (aka TJ) for his 3rd grade wax museum project...he looked so cute and gave a masterful speech. The first of the 3 pics shows his "pose" that he had to hold in between waiting for the next visitor to press his "button" -he was so serious:-)

What's this you say? Well, it's a cinnamon roll of course-er, uh, I mean Griffin's scrumptious belly sans dried up navel stump:-) He lost this on day 12.

I will be getting up early tomorrow to make the call about Griffin's need to see the urologist (see 2 posts back for details)...his "sore" is looking better already, so I'm guessing he'll be just fine and need no intervention...but since you all know how much I adore MD visits and long car rides with my many small children, we will make the venture whenever we are fit in the schedule to make sure Griffin is well cared for.

That's it for this WIR (week in review). Hope your week and mother's day were great too!!!
